Welcome to Canada’s First Education Bank

The Education Bank is a project of Parents Engaged in Education, a charitable organization that supports underprivileged families by providing urgently needed learning resources, school materials, and developmental programs from tutoring to competitive robotics.

In 2021, over 1,600 children from 550 families across the Greater Toronto Area were enrolled in our programs and services.


Our Programs and Services

FOUNDATIONS

From free school supplies and books to tutoring, we provide basic learning resources which not all children have access to.

STEM

Tomorrow’s workforce demands technology skills. Our competitive robotics programs and coding courses empower today’s youth to pursue technology.

ARTS

We spark inspiration and nurture creativity with drawing, music, and craft classes. Readers can join our book club, where we dive into a different theme each season.

SPORTS

Basketball? Soccer? Keeping kids healthy is a fundamental contributor to their success. We field teams in the summer season and the kids love it.

This job is ideal for an organized self-starter who embraces diversity, inclusivity, respect and equity as their working model. We are looking for a leading member of our small team to serve families and supervise operations at The Education Bank, a registered Canadian charity.

If you enjoy working with children/youth and their families, and would like to be part of a small but growing charity, this job may be for you!

Responsibilities

  • Organize and supervise volunteers, field placement students, and summer students
  • Verify applications for program admission
  • Assistant to the Executive Director
  • Draft grant and funding applications
  • Work with the Executive Director on projects
  • Assist with bookkeeping and accounting

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in business administration or similar
  • Previous employment reference
  • Accounting processing experience
  • Experience with Google Suite, Excel, Canva
  • Experience supervising staff of 3 or more people
  • Flexible work style that allows for change in plans as the need arises
  • Licensed driver
